President Museveni is set to meet National Resistance Movement (NRM) district and city chairpersons at State House Entebbe this Friday, in what is expected to be a high-level post-election strategy session following the party’s victory in the recently concluded general elections.
The meeting, scheduled for February 13, 2026 at 11:00am, was communicated in a letter dated February 10 by NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong.
In the letter, Todwong congratulated party leaders across the country upon what he described as a “resounding victory” in the polls and formally conveyed the President’s invitation.
“He the President and National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement Party has invited you to a meeting scheduled Friday, February 13, 2026 at State House Entebbe,” the letter reads in part.
The engagement brings together the party’s top leadership at the district and city level, underscoring the importance the ruling party attaches to consolidating its electoral gains and aligning its structures ahead of the next political phase.
Although the detailed agenda of the meeting was not publicly outlined, party insiders say discussions are expected to focus on post-election coordination, strengthening grassroots mobilization structures, and setting priorities for the implementation of the NRM manifesto.
The deliberations are also likely to align with the party’s long-standing pillars of patriotism, pan-Africanism, democracy and socio-economic transformation.
Logistical arrangements have been made to facilitate attendance. According to the Secretary General’s communication, buses will depart from Plot 10 Kyadondo Road in Kampala at 9:00am to transport leaders to Entebbe and will return after the meeting.
The letter was copied to the Deputy Secretary General and members of the Secretariat’s top management, signalling that the party’s central administrative leadership will also be involved in the discussions.
The meeting comes at a critical moment as the NRM transitions from campaign mode to governance, with expectations high among supporters for delivery on campaign promises and accelerated service delivery across the country.
